Innovative initiative aims to reuse espresso coffee residues through pyrolysis, turning them into carbon materials with valuable applications. Unlike composting, which releases significant greenhouse gases (20–45%), pyrolysis emits less than 1%. The resulting carbon materials have excellent physicochemical properties, making them safe, non-toxic, and effective for use in cosmetic products—particularly skin-cleansing formulations. By transforming everyday coffee waste into a resource, the initiative supports sustainability, reduces environmental pollution, and creates eco-friendly products with commercial potential.
