The Biomass for Energy and Biodiversity (B4EB) project focuses on the sustainable use of hydrophilic vegetation, specifically targeting invasive, fast-growing species in the artificial water systems of South Banat, Serbia. The primary goal of this project is to analyze these raw materials and optimize their quality for use as energy sources while conserving biodiversity. Activities include the conversion of aquatic plants into biomass for thermal energy and the exploration of their potential in storing electrochemical energy. The ultimate objective is to develop a tested and applied process that integrates the collection, processing, and market placement of these materials. The project aims to simultaneously address energy demands and contribute to environmental conservation by mitigating biodiversity loss and reducing the eutrophication of water bodies.
