The project “Circular Creative Economy for Knjaževac – Koštica dizajn” aims to reduce industrial waste by introducing a circular production model that connects the food, textile, and leather sectors. The project focuses on the reuse of cherry pits generated as a by-product of fruit processing, combined with locally available leather and textile remnants, to produce functional items such as pillows, cushions, and ottomans. Cherry pits are used as a natural, recyclable filling with thermal and therapeutic properties, extending product lifespan through refillable and renewable design. By transforming waste materials into value-added products, the project contributes to waste reduction and resource efficiency. At the same time, it creates employment opportunities for women from vulnerable groups, including long-term unemployed women and mothers of children with special needs, while strengthening local creative and circular economy practices.
