The project “From Waste to Extract” aims to introduce an innovative circular process into domestic food production by cold-pressing oil from berry fruit seeds (raspberries, blackberries, strawberries) that remain after the production of pure juices and syrups by a small family business and brand called “Slatka Teglica” (Sweet Jar).
This plant-based waste material, currently underutilized, is transformed into a valuable resource – oil rich in antioxidants, vitamins, and fatty acids. By introducing specialized machines for drying, grinding, and cold-pressing, the project increases the value of secondary raw materials, reduces waste, and creates opportunities for green jobs, especially for women in rural areas. The expected result is a developed and tested seed oil product with an annual processing capacity of 500–800 kg of residual material. Project success will be measured by the quantity of processed waste and the market launch of the new product.
