{"id":3989,"date":"2026-06-16T16:17:40","date_gmt":"2026-06-16T14:17:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cirkularnezajednice.rs\/?p=3989"},"modified":"2026-06-16T16:17:40","modified_gmt":"2026-06-16T14:17:40","slug":"eu-green-week-supporting-the-circular-economy-delivers-tangible-results","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cirkularnezajednice.rs\/?p=3989&lang=en","title":{"rendered":"EU Green Week \u2013 Supporting the Circular Economy Delivers Tangible Results"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As part of the European Green Week, two panel discussions on the circular economy were held at Europe House in Belgrade, organized within the framework of the project \u201cEU for the Circular Economy in Serbia.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Representatives of five Serbian companies, along with the Ministry of Environmental Protection, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia, the Delegation of the European Union to Serbia, and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), discussed how the circular economy can enhance competitiveness, increase efficiency, and enable resource savings.<\/p>\n<p>Reducing textile waste, saving water, and utilizing waste heat in food production are among the first measurable results achieved by the companies Jasmil, PS Fashion, Dax Intimo, Global Sistem Kooperativa, and Ribella Foods after introducing circular practices into their operations.<\/p>\n<p>Ana Miti\u0107-Radulovi\u0107 and Vladimir Jovanovi\u0107 from UNDP Serbia presented circular initiatives in the textile and agricultural sectors supported through the projects \u201cCircular Communities in the Republic of Serbia\u201d and \u201cEU for the Green Agenda in Serbia.\u201d To date, these initiatives have supported solutions aimed at improving textile and construction waste management, advancing digital agriculture, and strengthening sustainable women\u2019s entrepreneurship.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cirkularnezajednice.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Vladimir-Jovanovic-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-3987\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The project \u201cReducing the Carbon Footprint of Local Communities through the Application of Circular Economy Principles in the Republic of Serbia \u2013 Circular Communities\u201d is implemented by UNDP in partnership with the Ministry of Environmental Protection of the Republic of Serbia, with financial support from the Global Environment Facility (GEF).<\/p>\n<p>The project \u201cEU for the Green Agenda in Serbia\u201d is implemented by UNDP, with the technical and financial support of the European Union, in partnership with the Ministry of Environmental Protection, and in cooperation with the Embassy of Sweden and the European Investment Bank (EIB), with additional funding provided by the governments of Sweden, Switzerland, and Serbia.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As part of the European Green Week, two panel discussions on the circular economy were held at Europe House in Belgrade, organized within the framework of the project \u201cEU for the Circular Economy in Serbia.\u201d Representatives of five Serbian companies, along with the Ministry of Environmental Protection, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia, the Delegation of the European Union to Serbia, and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), discussed how the circular economy can enhance competitiveness, increase efficiency, and enable resource savings.
