The project “MEKIŠA” aims to apply circular economy and prevention principles in children’s publishing by developing long-lasting, washable, and reusable educational products that significantly extend the life of paper-based materials. The project expands an existing product line of soft books, memory games, and puzzles made from durable, responsibly sourced textile materials designed for repeated use by multiple generations of children. By replacing short-lived paper products with resilient alternatives, the initiative reduces waste while promoting creative and educational content for early childhood development. The project also supports women’s employment and skills development by involving women in illustration, writing, production, and digital activities. Expected results include the launch of new MEKIŠA titles and educational products, increased market presence through online sales and public promotion, and the establishment of a scalable circular model within the children’s publishing sector.
