With this initiative, a unique waste management system was introduced in Pančevo with the aim of organising the separation of various categories of household waste in new containers for wet and dry waste. As part of this project, scales were installed in one of the new waste trucks, and bins for “dry” waste (with built-in microchips to measure the amount of waste per household) and containers for “wet” waste were distributed to citizens. The initiative is modelled on the practise of waste separation in Japan. The project partner is a group of experts from Japan with expertise in the field of environmental protection and waste management systems.
