The second workshop of the National Bioeconomy Centre, organised by the Institute of Forestry with the support of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia, was held today at the Chamber’s premises in Belgrade. The event brought together representatives of relevant institutions, the business sector, the bioindustry, public enterprises, primary sector stakeholders, waste management experts, as well as representatives of research, educational, and international organisations.

During the session titled “Circular Bioeconomy Actors in Focus: Examples of Good Practice”, Ana Mitić-Radulović, Circular Economy Analyst at UNDP Serbia, presented various forms of support that UNDP provides for circular innovations – including the ongoing public call, structured as a challenge for innovative solutions supporting Serbia’s green transition. She outlined the application process and key dates: the deadline for submitting project ideas is 5 July, while full project proposals are due by 22 July. The acceleration phase and preparation of project documentation will take place between 25 September and December 2024, with the implementation of selected projects scheduled for January to December 2025.

In addition to development support, education, and mentoring offered by UNDP, the most promising, implementation-ready projects will also receive co-financing – further strengthening the capacities for green transition within Serbia’s circular economy.

Following the presentation, Sanida Klarić, founder of Bio Idea Soaps, presented her circular innovation developed with support from UNDP.
